Poster Awards
Following previous editions, the 7th edition of the Speech Motor Conference featured a competition for best poster presentation, underlining the equal academic value of poster presentations to oral presentations. The award consisted of a hard copy of the conference book "Speech Motor Control in Normal and Disordered Speech: Future Developments in Theory and Methodology", a University of Groningen USB-stick with the eBook version of the conference book, and a $60 gift card. The judges evaluated the posters based on the formulation of the research question, the scientific quality, the poster layout, and the poster presentation itself. An overall high quality of presentations was noted. Three posters were awarded SMC2017 best poster prize:Caroline Niziolek - Acoustic and neural measures of speech error detection and correction in persons with aphasia
Panying Rong - Toward a diagnostic tool for assessing articulatory involvement in ALS
Jun Wang - Mapping Non-Invasive Brain Activity (MEG) Signals to Spoken Phrases
